Who is eligible to receive these services?

You may be eligible for subsidised treatment through Health NZ-funded services if you:

  • Have an approved health need, and
  • Are eligible for publicly funded health services in New Zealand

Eligibility also depends on the type of service. For example, some services are available for:

  • Children under 14 years old (and sometimes their whānau)
  • Women under 25 years old (for emergency contraception)
  • Women aged 16–65 years (for uncomplicated UTI treatment)

Our pharmacists will check your eligibility and guide you every step of the way.

Eligibility criteria apply. These services are provided under the New Zealand Extended Pharmacy Services programme and may be funded for eligible patients. Your pharmacist will assess your condition and advise if treatment can be provided or if referral to another healthcare provider is needed.
